KARACHI: Karachi is set to face a shortage of 400 million gallons of water today on Monday, a spokesperson for the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board said in a statement.
The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board said that the Gharo and Dhabeji pumping stations will not be operational because of the shutdown of electricity from six in the morning to six in the evening.
As a result of this electricity shutdown, the entire city is expected to face the shortage of water today.
In a message posted on Twitter, K-Electric — the city’s power utility — said the power supply to the Gharo and Dhabeji grids is being suspended for maintenance work on the request of the National Transmission and Despatch Company.
